  1. Prompt: As I am singing King Of Pain by The Police, I look over my shoulder and see somebody harmonizing. As I look over my shoulder, I recognized the person. It's my 5th Grade teacher Mr. Frederick! I smile and gesture for him to come up onto the stage. He puts his hands up and shakes his head, letting me know that this was my moment to shine. I didn't give up. I shook my hand harder and my eyes grew bigger. He finally stands up and walks over to the steps. I hand him the extra microphone and we both stand there on the stage, sharing the spotlight with each other. The next thing I know, my co-workers, Kyle, Gigi, Dancer, and General stand up and start singing along too. I couldn't stop myself from grinning ear to ear which lowered my ability to sing. Kyle started walking and dancing up to the stage, then General followed, then Gigi, and then Dancer. We all stood up on the stage singing our hearts out and having the best time of our lives. After the singing, my co-workers , Mr. Frederick, and I decided to split a large cheese pizza and we all munched the pizza down like a soldier sitting down at dinner, after fighting all day in the war.

Life is full of surprises, but I guarantee not as surprising as my boss inviting me and my other co-workers to a restaurant to celebrate our accomplishments. While I was there, I noticed people singing karaoke. I decided to go up and sing "Dog Days Are Over" by Florence and the Machine. I was having a great time when my friend Daisy started singing with me, followed by Elle, Buggie, Fifi, MC, and General. I gestured for them to come up and sing with me, so they did, though very reluctantly. There we were, a bunch of off key singers jamming to a old song that hasn't been on the radio for years! It was extremely fun, one of the best moments of my life! In the audience, I noticed my 5th grade teacher, Mr. Frederick singing. After a lot of persuading, he finally came up as well. After the song was over, we all decided to go to the Town Center and run around like crazy in the dark.

I am alone at a restaurant for dinner (my coworkers declined saying that they had to go to Bermuda for a night.) I am invited up on the stage to sing karaoke. I am feeling brave so I sing that song. I hear a woman harmonizing in the crowd. She is at a table and she is alone. I invite her up on the stage to sing with me. We become good friends.

In the end we win $300 and an around the world cruise for two. Perfect!!! We are so excited to go on the cruise together!!!! My coworkers don't know what they are missing... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Singing my heart out gave some people smiles. "I Bet My Life" is on of my favorite songs, which gave me great energy. I kept on singing with a smile on my face. Then a person in the audience starts harmonizing with me. I had no idea who he was, but he had a smile on his. He then gave me more energy and happiness. He was still harmonizing, and it made the performance so much better. Thats when my co-workers (Buggie, Jake, Double G, General, and FiFi) stood up and sang with me. They started dancing like it was the last time they would be dancing. When your'e singing with your best friends, you feel so much more comfortable. "You guys are the best" I said to my friends. Thats when the whole audience started clapping for us. The whole restraint filled with noise and energy. It was a great moment, and it built up off of that one man who harmonized with me. I didn't know if I would see him again but I know I had to tell him something. "Thanks for that" I thanked him. "Hey, no problem. You are worthy of having someone to harmonize with you" he said. He then left the restaurant. Right before he opened the door out, he winked at me.

  5. I went to Amicis for a work party. For karaoke, I started to sing Calvin Harris’ “Summer.” Suddenly someone else started singing with me. I looked over and saw my friend from work and he knew that song too. After that, we had a New Haven white clam pizza together. Then my friend went up to sing karaoke. He started to sing “Sugar.” People started singing along and laughing and having a good time. Next, we finished our pizza and had soda. Finally, we went home and my friend invited me over. We stayed up late playing video games and had a sleepover.

  6. As we sing I hear another person and another and it just keeps growing. More and more people sing and less than 10 seconds later you realize that everyone is singing. Who would ever think that anyone would know Help, by the Beatles. Well who wouldn't its a really popular song. And by the end of the song everyone was clapping and everyone wanted to go up after me.

One day I was just sitting in my office and then my boss came in a said “you're getting a promotion” I thought I would go out and celebrate by going to a nice italian place. And when I got their a karaoke contest was just starting I was so glad I made it in time to see it. But when I heard my favourite song: One last time, I sprinted up to the stage and started singing but then I hear some of my coworkers harmonizing with me in the back. It was an amazing night!!

  10. Last night my coworkers and I went to amigos for a little retreat from work. When the karaoke person called me up I was so nervous. I started sining my favorite song, viva la vida, I saw one person start to sing along, then another and another, they slowly started walking up the steps to the stage. I was freaked out until they started singing behind me. We sang viva la vida and a million other songs.

  11. One evening I invited my co worker Evan out to the dinner at the Dutch Goose to celebrate his promotion. When we were there a song came on the radio, I started humming it, and singing. Then we both started singing the song. We stood up and started singing like it was Karaoke.

  12. As we walk into the restaurant the first thing that hits you is the sound of people singing karaoke. We are in the middle of a conversation when my favorite song comes on, Sugar by Maroon 5. I say to my coworkers lets go up there and sing. They come up with me, as we sing I hear someone or some people harmonizing. It was my old fifth grade class the Fireballs. As the song finishes instead of going to sit down we stay up their and sing a couple more songs.

  13. We started going toward the very back of the restaurant to get through to the staff only section. I open the door and we step backstage of the restaurant. I asked the others to go out before me. The guitarist, keyboardist, and percussionist went on. I walked onto the stage while the others we're preparing to play. Our first song was one of the old songs we listened to in 5th grade. I heard someone in the audience. It was one of the girls I had practiced with for boys vs girls. She started harmonizing, singing with me and I pulled her up onto the stage. We both sang, she tried louder but for all these years I practiced to sing as loud as possible. Once the songs finished, I hugged her and sent her off the stage as we walked back out of the restaurant.
