Grammar

Tonight you'll get an opportunity to work on grammar and talking to each other.

A.

1. Write a sentence with a preposition. Underline the preposition.
2. Write a sentence with an interjection. Underline the interjection.
3. Write a sentence using a conjunction. Underline the conjunction.
4. Write a sentence using present perfect tense. Underline it.
5. Write a sentence using past perfect tense. Underline it.
6. Write a sentence using future perfect tense. Underline it.
7. Write a sentence using a correlative conjunction. Underline it.
8. Write a sentence using commas in a series.
9. Write a sentence using a metaphor. Under the metaphor.
10. Write a sentence using a personification. Underline the personification.

B. Talk to each other. Remember, the goal is to move the conversation forward in a non-selfish manner. Listen to each other.

    11. I am very excited for spring break to come, because its nice to have a break sometimes. I will be spending my spring break in the British Virgin Islands, so I know it will be a relaxing, and exciting break. I am pretty sure everyone is excited for the break coming up.

    I get to do nothing besides working on my state float for the WHOLE break! I can't go anywhere because my dad is in Washington D.C. with the Woodside Elementary 8th graders for their field trip until Friday, plus he doesn't have break the same time and it's too late to plan anything.

    2. My first thought would be that my dad is in his room asleep so I can tiptoe there and wake him up. After that I will plan my state float and take my wagon out of the garage to clean it and paint it. What are you looking forward to?

    2. Write a sentence with an interjection. Underline the interjection. WOOHOO! My mom yelled when we found out the trip to Hawaii was ready and set to go.
    3. Write a sentence using a conjunction. Underline the conjunction. My father said we couldn’t go to Greenland BUT we could go to Hawaii.
    4. Write a sentence using present perfect tense. Underline it. I managed to kick the round shiny soccer ball from the wet grass as far as a could, soon it hit the white goal, then heard a long loud whistle coming from the man in the white and black striped shirt and cap.
    5. Write a sentence using past perfect tense. Underline it. I had kicked the soccer ball to my team, just when a rude teammate stole the ball from his own teammate and kicked it into the goal soon he was doing his victory dance.
    6. Write a sentence using future perfect tense. Underline it. “I am very nervous about the upcoming science test,” I said to my friend Genesis, she nodded in agreement.
