  1. 1. We know that you go crazy, and sometimes you die, and also you become addicted.

    2. It means that your body MUST have it.

    3. They might have a person that watches them during most of the time so they wouldn't take it.

    4. Not all drugs are bad like caffeine is used in chocolate and coffee.

    5. When drugs are prescribed and you follow the directions, you will get better.

    6. If someone uses TOO much would be dangerous such as marijuana.

    7. They would take a stimulant drug which basically makes you more active so they play faster.

    8. They get addicted to the drug so they must have it everyday possible which ends up killing the person. (Sometimes you don't die but get cancer)

    9. Nobody in my family takes drugs besides drinking coffee (not all the time) or having wine at a party but not too much. If they did, someone who isn't on drugs could call the doctor for an emergency unless they are a kid, but the kids would get advice.

    10. They would probably stop taking drugs unless they need it instead of want it like if they are sick.

  7. 1. Brainstorm with your guardian on what you know about drugs. Please list.
Drugs can be very helpful when properly used, but dangerous when misused or abused. For instance, if the doctor prescribes you a medicine when you are in a lot of pain and you start using it even if you are not in pain, that may lead to getting used to taking that medicine and be addictive to it, which is very bad.

    2. What's the definition of addiction?
When you need something and cannot do your normal life without it.

    3. How do you think people handle their addictions?
Sometimes people look for help when they realize they have an addition, it could be a family member that they asked help to, or a doctor, or maybe a friend.

4.Do you think all drugs are potentially dangerous? Why?
Yes, I think all drugs are potentially dangerous because there is always a possibility that you may end up misusing them or abusing them, so you always have to be careful and use them the way they are supposed to be used.

    5. Do you think drugs can have positive effects? When? How?
Yes, when prescribed by a doctor drugs can be helpful to fight diseases or pain due to an illness.
    6. What negative effects can drugs have?
When you take drugs you loose your ability to think or act normally, you may start imagining things and do dangerous things.

    7. Why would someone who plays sports take drugs?
To give them a rush in their body to make them run faster or perform better and get ahead of the game.

    8. What are some reasons people misuse or abuse drugs?
Sometimes people feel more at ease when using drugs, they feel they can do anything, that they are powerful, but reality is that they are not, that is just the way the feel.

    9. Who is available to assist with a drug abuse problem?
Your doctor, parents, school counselor, a nurse.

    10. Why is talking to trusted people important in preventing further drug abuse?
Hey can help you get rid of the addition and they can be trusted with your problem.

    6. Because they want to have more energy when they play.

    7. Because they are sad or have problems.

    8. Most of the time the only person who can help you is a doctor or a therapist.

    9. Because then you can talk about your issues to them and maybe they can convince you to stop before it’s too late.

    2. When you want something so bad you are a different person without it

    3. Try to stop using the drug by themselves or they could get medical help

    4. Yes because if you get the wrong dosage then it might override your system and make you hallucinate

    5. Yes when the doctor tells the patient to use drugs such as steroids to help heal an injury or aspirin to help headaches

    6. You could hallucinate, make bad decisions, waste all your money, steal to get money, and hurt relationships

    7. Athletes take steroids because they want to be faster, stronger, and more powerful then the people are playing against. It is illegal because it is cheating in most sports

  12. 1. Brainstorm with your guardian on what you know about drugs. Please list.

Drugs can hurt or help depending on whether a doctor prescribes them and whether you follow the prescription, what types of drugs you use and for what purpose.

    What's the definition of addiction?

An addiction is when you cannot stop doing something.

How do you think people handle their addictions?

They can use their own will power to stop, or get help and support from family, therapists and doctors.

Do you think all drugs are potentially dangerous? Why?

Yes. All drugs are dangerous if they are misused or abused. Even advil for a headache is dangerous if you take too many.

Do you think drugs can have positive effects? When? How?

Yes, medicine prescribed by a doctor or used as directed can help you feel better or heal.

What negative effects can drugs have?

Drugs can make you sick or kill you if you take the wrong ones or misuse them.

Why would someone who plays sports take drugs?

To be stronger, faster, better. But this is cheating and it's not good for their bodies in the long term. Many athletes have lost their medals by being caught taking drugs.

What are some reasons people misuse or abuse drugs?

To forget their problems and have fun but it can often end up ruining their lives.

Who is available to assist with a drug abuse problem?
Doctors and therapists, family and friends.

Why is talking to trusted people important in preventing further drug abuse?
Because they can help you solve your problems so you don't have to rely on drugs to avoid them.

  16. I know that drugs are dangerous to people who use them irresponsibility, but helpful to people who need them as medication and use them correctly.
Additions is when you have something and you like it, your body becomes used to it, and has to have it.
People handle their additions by going to a doctor and asking the doctor to help.
Yes, I think all drugs are potentially dangerous because you can always misuse them.
Yes, I think that drugs can be positive. When they are used as medication, correctly, they can help you.
Negative effects are that you can’t think and react as well as you usually do.
Some players might take steroids so that they can be bigger and stronger so they can play better and win games.
Some people might take drugs because of peer pressure, or because they are sad and don’t want to feel anymore pain.
People who can help are doctors, clinics, RN and Psychologists.
Talking to people that you trust will help because they will help you to say no to drugs.
