What is Stress?



Tonight you'll get the opportunity to identify and talk about stress. You and a guardian will explain the ways it helps and hurts us as individuals and communities. Be careful that you don't disclose too much personal information.

  1. Having stress is good because you can cope with it.
    Stress can hurt and and you won't know what to do with yourself.
    Sometimes the players break out into a fight when things don't go their way and they are feeling the stress.
    Here are some reasons why guardians can be stressed their kids safety and their jobs.
    Here are some reasons why kids can be stressed their homework and school.
    Sometimes they clean and exercise or watch a movie.
    By watching videos and playing with my friends.
    A negative way is to yell and scream and act like you want to fight.
    They feel stress when their country is at war.
    I am very stressed out right now because of our house project.
    I feel stressed when I am up until late studying and doing homework.

  2. 1. Stress can make you want to try harder, and make you want to achieve your goals. You can get pumped up, and want to do something about it.
    2. Stress can be too weight on your shoulders, and can make you just blank out, and have headaches.
    3. You could get mad, and do something thats bad, that you didn't mean to do, but was caused by stress. Or, you can get your teammates to try harder, and yourself to try harder.
    4. Jobs can distress parents, because you have to get everything done, and take care of your child. Money, is a big one because it pays the bills, and buying clothes, food, and helpful things around the house.
    5. Children distress about school work, and presentations. Friendships, because there is a fight, or something going on at school. After school activities, will cause stress, because of time for like homework, and that.
    6. One way our family deals with stress, is talking about it, and not just separating from each other. Helping each other, like doing something that you could help with, and then there isn't as many things to stress about.
    7. Storming off, and not talking about it, and just throwing things, or fighting verbally. Keeping it hidden, and just putting on a brave face, and not coping with it, with someone.
    8. Communities can feel stressed when theres a big party, or event that is going to happen, and they have to get it set up. If there is something wrong that is a pattern, then they all have to figure out a solution.
    9. My dad has a lot of stress. I am a little stressed, but its not that much for homework, and getting thing done.
    10. I feel stressed when there is a fight between my friends, and when I have to do all this homework, in a short amount of time.

    2. It can make them mad and they start breaking things and yelling
    3. It would make them argue with referees and will make them start a fight
    4. Parents worrying about money and children
    5. Kid having no social life
    6. They would just forget about it
    7. Punch pillows and screaming
    8. Breaking things like glass vases and slamming a door
    9. When people disrespect their land and disrespect the people
    10. No stress

  5. 1. Stress can be positive because it can save people and send jolts of energy through your body.
    2. Stress can be negative too. Negative stress comes along when you are feeling too much pressure on your shoulders, and have too much work.
    3. It could make your teammates try harder and really push it past the limit.
    4. Somethings that can stress out guardians are, helping kids out with homework, or maybe even having to work around the house, and worst of all, money.
    5. Kids could be stressed about their parents fighting, or maybe they have a sibling that is being harsh of him/her, and it grows worse as time goes on.
    6. Some ways that kids and guardians could cope together are, help each other work. For example, the guardian could help the kid with his/her homework, and the kid could help the guardian with cleaning the dishes, or cooking the next meal.
    7. One way I relieve stress is I relax on my bed, and close my eyes for about 5 minutes and let all relief come through.
    8. Relaxing for too long, could cause some procrastination, which could lead to late bedtimes, and sleepyheads in the next morning.
    9. Communities could feel stress when people treat the town/city in a very disrespectful manner.
    10. Two ways I am stressed right now are, keeping my room organized, because my drawers are really dirty, (and when I mean dirty, I mean disorganized and messy). Another way is homework because I have so much homework in the evening.
    11. I feel stressed when I have to put another assignment/piece of homework on my "to-do list".

  6. 1.It dependent on want your doing
    2. Like when your having a test and is very hard and you have not practice at all so you are worried that you will get a bad grade.
    3. They will have to go and sit out and think of why there head hurts
    4.It could be bills and when they have to do something that is very inpotant and they can't go and do it.
    5.When there brother or sister are fighting about something and her sister does not like when they fight.
    6. It could be a lot of thing like dealing with parents fight or when they have bills and when brother or sister are fighting.
    7.When you have a big test and you don't know any of the problems so your head starts to hurt.
    8. Maybe because of work or other things.
    9. Not that stressed but sometimes yeah
    10. I feel stressed when i don't know how to do something and my head starts to hurt.

    Motivation to do better or change for positive stressless outcome.
    Can you think of some ways stress can have a negative effect on a person?
    Getting annoyed, making them what to give up. Can affect health.
    How do people respond to stress while playing sports?
    Some cases some people will not follow direction or rules, as well as play messier. They will maybe play more aggressive, which can lead to hurting someone.
    What things might distress guardians, but not in children? Be specific.
    Financial help, making sure the family is well taken care of.
    What things might distress children in a family that may not bother parents?
    Hanging out with friends, Having no homework.

    Taking vacations, having alone time.

    Take deep breaths, going to a quiet room.

    Yelling or giving up,having a sour attitude

    Financially, dealing with resident complaints, traffic.

  9. 1. It can make them feel like they always have something to do so your are never bored.
    2. Most of the time stress if caused by too much on your plate.It can sometimes cause you physical pain liking headache ect...
    3. Just sit out a little until it goes away or maybe just suck it up and keep playing
    4. Maybe something at work like a report you have to finish and you are worried if people like them or not, but the most offered thing that parents gets distressed about if about money or their kids.
    5. Pace themselves, don't rush everything so you don't feel all the pressure at once.
    6. I normally think about something else or talk to someone else at home and tell them me stress and maybe they can help me.
    7. Taking it out of someone else like yelling at your siblings when your stressed with homework or something.
    8. Maybe juggling all the things that they did to do like making sure that everything is safe and sound for the people loving there.

    Can you think of some ways stress can have a negative effect on a person? Stress may give you a sick kind of feeling, like a headache or a stomachache.
    How do people respond to stress while playing sports? Maybe theres a big game that you are afraid or scared that you will lose and start stressing.
    What things might distress guardians, but not in children? Be specific. Simply taking care of their children, like feeding them and giving them love and education.
    What things might distress children in a family that may not bother parents? To start with, siblings or "enemies" may secretly be mean to you when a parent is not looking…
    What are some ways that your guardians may cope with stress at home? Just Simply taking deep breaths or get books that teach you about coping with stress, maybe goals
    What are some ways that you deal with stress at home? Children usually use stress balls.
    What might be some negative ways in dealing with stress? Sometimes you will get bad feelings.
    How might communities feel stressed? Garbage lying on the floor and damaged store, houses, or even rodes.

    Can you think of some ways stress can have a negative effect on a person? Nausea, Diarrhea, gastritis, ulcers, headache, pain, fatigue...
    What things might distress guardians, but not in children? Work, money, children, cleaning...
    What things might distress children in a family that may not bother parents? Homework, Friend drama, teats, school, staying home alone, not fitting in...
    What are some ways that your guardians may cope with stress at home? Spend more time with family, talk to close people, write about it, cook...
    What are some ways that you deal with stress at home? Talk too a parent, or trusted person about it, write in a diary, read, dance...
    What might be some negative ways in dealing with stress? It could distract you from other things...
    How might communities feel stressed? Gangs, pollution, danger, sickness...
    How stressed are you right now in your life? 2.5-3.5

  12. 1. Stress releases adrenaline, which causes you to do better in many things, such as sports.
    2. Stress can cause depression and can drive you away from your friends because you are so worried!!!
    3. It causes you to preform more aggressively, which basically means better.
    4. Probably parents are stressed for the safety of their child.
    5. Children probably get stressed with HOMEWORK!!!!!!!! (But thats just me @>@)

    7. I just push it out of my mind and don't care!!!!!!! I have way to much stress on a daily basis to let it bring me down. if I cared about all of my stress, I wouldn't survive!!     10. I'm not really that stressed. Sure, I have a lot of pressure from my parents to get good grades and I have lots of homework, but I've learned to cope with it!! Everyone seems to expect more of me than others.

  13. 1. It can give you a burst of adrenaline which can help you perform better at something that you are worried about.
    2. High blood pressure, headaches, and depression.
    3. For me I just embrace the adrenaline and use it to get a burst of energy even when I am very tired.
    4. Jobs, health, money, and family as well as other stuff.
    5. Homework, social life, sports, and school work.
    6. Pace yourself so that everything does not hit you at once, and take time to relax with family or friends.
    7. Ignore it or run scenarios through my head to calm myself down.
    8. Arguing and not getting along with other people as well as you might become snappy or argumentative.
    9. If a tragedy happens in a community it can cause stress among everyone ( For example in Doha there was a fire in a mall and and a lot of children died this caused stress throughout the community).
