Tonight you'll get the opportunity to work on the following.

1. Take the school climate survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2015CMSMidYear

2. Answer these questions. You may use the Internet to help you find the answers. Try to put the words into your own words. Speak like a 5th grader please.
a. What influenced where Europeans settle in North America?
b. Who founded some of the colonies? Name the person and the colony he found.
c. How did religion affect the founding of the colonies?
d. How did the First Great Awakening affect the colonies?

3. How are we doing on the Journey intwo Ireland play?

  1. 2a. The farmland and how much water was available in the area. Also, the climate and weather mattered too.
    2b. Tomas Hooker and Roger Williams founded the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
    2c. It helped the colonies stay alive and open longer. I also affected how hard they worked. They didn't have to work super hard as they would without a religion.
    2d. It increased the interest in religion, made more colonies, and colonies grew bigger and became more religious.
    3. The JII play is going along great!! I have 2 ideas for the poster and I'm thinking one will be the FD (final draft)

  3. 2a. The soil, and the weather. Also, animals to hunt, and how much land could be owned.
    2b. The Georgia colony was founded by James Oglerthorpe, in 1732. The Connecticut colony was founded by Thomas Hooker in 1636.
    2c. Religion was like who you are. It was the structure that they built off of to work. They knew that they could rely on something.
    2d. The first Great Awakening gave everyone a wake up call, and many debates. Then, there were knew lights, and old lights, and revolution was being born.
    3. I think we are getting into the characters, and we are having progress with the props, and the lines, and everything.

    c. Some colonies were founded over religion because they got kicked out of a different colony for being religious
    d. The colonies listened more to preachers and became more religious in the process
    3. Everyone is improving at there part and it is turning out well so far

    a) Water resources, and weather definitely affect where they want to settle. For example, if they wanted a colony that would farm. they would probably settle in the south.
    b) Captain Christopher newport was the Captain of the ship who founded Jamestown.
    c) Many different groups, such as the Pilgrims, moved from England because they didn't agree with the English Church.
    d) The Great Awakening caused many people to stand up for what they believed in, which caused the founding of colleges, colonies, and the free-market economy.
    3. I think that we are doing great! I think that we do have to pick up the pace though if we want to finish on time............

    c. How did religion affect the founding of the colonies? Certain people usually lived in a certain colonies because of their religion.
    d. How did the First Great Awakening affect the colonies? It made people be more open about religion.

    Good but zi hope we could get a little farther into the play

  10. A. There was more land and good for crops, they wanted independence from King George the 3rd also freedom of religion.

    B. John Wheelwright, Thomas Hooker, Roger Williams, Duke of York, James Edward Oglethorpe also William Penn.

    C. In the colonies people could have their own religion so they could be Jewish, Christian, Muslim and a lot of other things so this made this place better than England and more people came to live here.

    D.The Great Awakening helped people remind themselves that this place you can be anything and made people open their minds to new things. Many religious collages were founded. In this Great Awakening it was more about religion than manufacturing.

    3. We are doing good, more of the actors are memorizing their lines and the stagehands are getting the set moved around faster. We are definitely making progress.
